Redundant transceivers from other vendors terminate and regenerate signals using electronic devices only. This causes these devices to be a single point of failure due to power interruption events. Using relay and optical switch technologies, Shore Microsystems' Link Protectors with Straight Through Wire^TM technology pass traffic even on total loss of power.
