Shore Microsystems is pleased to announce the upcoming release of its newest product, the SM-2501MAG Modular SFP Advanced Gigabit Link Protector. The SM-2501MAG is the latest release in the Shore Microsystems catalog of standalone (not rack-mounted) Redundant Link Protector products.
Using a modular SFP architecture for the user data ports (Protect, Primary, and Backup), the SM-2501MAG accomodates user preferences for physical media types. The SM-2501MAG can support gigabit copper or fiber SFPs in any user-specified configuration, to include all copper, all fiber, or copper-to-fiber/fiber-to-copper media conversion. The advanced management feature set incorporates the user functionality previously available in the SM-2501CAG Copper Advanced Gigabit Link Protector, but with the added benefit of user-selectable physical media interfaces.
Note that power-down bypass (Straight Through Wire technology) is not available for the SM-2501MAG at this time.
